Electrochemical Investigation of Photosensitive Layer on Copper
The behaviour of photosensitive layer on the metalic copper surface was investigated in CuCl2 and NaCl solutions of various concentration by the method of potentiodynamic polarization. The photosensitive layer formation is accompanied by the change of photopotential as wellas by the appearance of photocurrent. The polarization of illuminated Cu electrode was also performed (Fig.1). By increasing CuCl2 concentration photo current density increases as well (Fig.2). The limiting photocurrent of unpolarized copper electrode is a linear function of logarithmic concentration of CuCl2. During the anodic polarization of Cu electrode a limiting current density is achieved while a withe deposite in CuCl2 solution is formed. In NaCl solutions the photosensitive layer on copper is of a slight sensitivity. The layer photosensitivity increas when polarizing Cu electrode. By the higher values of anodic, cathodic overpotential the photosensitivity disappears.
