Application of ethyl cellulose microcapsules with Helichrysum italicum essential oil on modal and cotton fabric

Turning to nature is more and more appeared. Therefore, the implementation of natural substances in textiles is very popular. In this research, application of microcapsules on textile is main topic. Microcapsules with Helichrysum italicum essential oil as active ingredient were chosen because H. italicum has anti-allergic, anticoagulant, antiseptic, diuretic, fungicidal and inflammatory action. It acts as an antibacterial agent, and because of its anti-inflammatory activity it is used in the treatment of hematomas, scars, eczema, skin infections and allergic reactions. Different application baths were applied on cellulose and modal fabric with two different type of application: impregnation and electrospinning. Treated materials was analysed with Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and gravimetrically.
