Optimal Planning and Operation of the Off-Grid Genset System by an Evolutionary Algorithm
The use of the mobile gensets for off–grid application is widened for power supply of mobile camps (for example military camps) or in case of power supply interruption in some areas due to natural disasters. Depending of the costumer load profiles it is interesting to research what size and number of the gensets are the most profitable from economic point of the view. Examples of the optimization of the genset operation can be seen in [1], [2]. Beside this a number of operational optimization of hybrid systems including genset can be found in [3]–[5]. The optimization presented in the research is done by using the evolutionary class of the optimization method. The presented procedure can be used for geneset purchasing in the planning phase and also for optimal genset operations in application phase. The real genset data available on the genset manufacturers web platform are used in the research. The different artificially generated daily load profiles are used presenting different scenarios need to be optimized.
