A New Approach to Teaching Foreign Languages in Universities
One of the greatest challenges facing universities today is the implementation of the Bologna process. Multilingualism has become a priority in the new system. As a result, there is a need to revise existing programmes and to develop a new strategy for foreign language teaching for non- language majors. Students need to be offered specialized programmes which will enable them to communicate in their area of study. This paper discusses existing university language programmes, evaluates their effectiveness, and offers possible alternatives.
