Fuzzy logic as priority function of urban public transport

The increase of traffic demand over the last several years has been the cause of studies carried out regarding traffic-dependent management solutions from the aspect of safety, economy and environment. The development of computer technology has enabled the application of artificial intelligence methods in the field of traffic sciences. The work describes the possibility of applying fuzzy logic in giving priority to vehicles of urban public transport at signal-controlled intersections. Fuzzy logic allows processing of all the relevant parameters in the traffic process, thus contributing to the increase in the management efficiency.
