Sociodemographic Factors and Early Childhood Teachers Artistic Senzibility in Music and Visual Arts
Artistic activities facilitate creative and social development, so early childhood and preschool teachers should encourage children to participate in art activities. Conducting art activities depends on the teachers’ artistic sensibility, but numerous influences can shape their sensibility for different art forms, so the aim of this study was to determine if age and years of work experience are associated with how often teachers conduct music and visual arts activities in early childhood and preschool education. A survey was administered to 137 participants and the analysis showed no significant associations between the teachers’ age and work experience and how often they conducted music and visual arts activities in the classroom. Implications for further research and practice are discussed.
