Inductance Calculation of Wilkins Standard Resistors using a Quasi-Monte Carlo Solution

This paper presents a quasi-Monte Carlo method for calculating the mutual inductance of misaligned circular coils in designing the Wilkins standard resistors. Validation of the method is presented through the examples. The results obtained highly match previously published data that uses other methods. Advantages of the quasi-Monte Carlo method are the availability of a deterministic bound for error (unlike the probabilistic in the Monte-Carlo method), a faster convergence rate and the high flexibility. This method can be useful in the process of designing and developing Wilkins standard resistors to reduce the phase shift.
