Estimation of Energy Harvesting Capabilities for RF and Other Environmental Sources

Environmental energy is energy present all around us. Kinetic energy from our body moments, reflective light form ambient light sources, radio frequency waves of mobile networks, of television transmission, thermal energy from objects around us. There is always some kind of energy floating around us. This paper gives short comparison of energy sources and their basic scavenging methods. The focus is given to radio-frequency harvesting and general guidelines for efficient harvester design are given.
