Changes in the motivation and structure of tourist expenditure
The purpose of travelling is the first in a number of seps that lead to choosing a tourist destination. It is up to management to organize the tourist offer in such a way that it will generate an increase in tourist expenditure. the basic task is to detrmine the motivation for travelling in order to establish the structure of tourist expenditure and to foresee possible changes in tourist offer that will have the mosst impact on overall tourist expenditure. The tourist offer comprises various goods and services, that can be claswified as room and board services, and catering services i.e. the consumption of food and beverages outside the hotel facility, as a segment of secondary services. Special attention is focused on catering the retail-shopping offer. Using quantitaive methods, the author attempts to prove the possibility of increasing tourist expenditure and to determine the potential upshift in toursit numbers together with the increase in daily tourist expenditure per tourist.
