Skeletal Pattern of Class II Molar Relationship in Croatian Population
The aim of this study is to evaluate frequency of maxillary and/or mandibular prognatizm, normognatizm and/or retrognatizm in Class II patients in Croatian population.Sample consisted of 71 Class II patients and 70 Class II patients, all in the age of 13-16 years.Cephalometric analysis was performed on latero-lateral craniograms of all subjects. In the Class II sample maxillary prognatizm and mandibular normognatizm was found in 11, 3% patients, maxillary normognatizm and mandibular retrognatizm in 22, 5% patients, maxillary prognatizm and mandibular retrognatizm in 11, 3% patients, maxillary normognatizm and mandibular normognatizm in 7% patients, and maxillary retrognatizm and mandibular retrognatizm in 47, 9% patients. The combination of maxillary prognatizm and mandibular prognatizm was not recorded among the sample. It is concluded that the most frequent skeletal pattern in Class II patients in Croatian population is bimaxillary retrognatizm with domination of mandibular retrognatizm.
