Effects of pressure on the Fermi surface of Cd3As2
Cd3As2 is a three dimensional Dirac semimetal which was found to be able to get driven into a topological insulator and a Weyl semimetal by breaking symmetry.[1] Other groups have previously reported Shubnikov-de Haas (SdH) oscillations with frequencies 53T and 56T in two directions.[2] Same group has reported de Haas-van Alphen and saw another frequency of 46T as well as previously observed 53T.[2] On our crystal, grown under different conditions, we did resistivity measurements for fields less than 9T at range of temperatures below 80K. We observed SdH oscillations with frequency 27T at ambient pressure and tracked its evolution as the pressure was increased. We also saw 41T frequency at ambient pressure in another direction. The observed SdH oscillations allow us to characterize the Fermi surface by extracting its relevant parameters. [1] Z.Wang, et al., Physical Review B 88, 125427(2013). [2] A.
