Design of Oil-Free Pump with Negligible Internal Volume

Design of hydrodynamic pump with negligible internal volume is carried out by modification of Rayleight's hydrodynamic step slider on which the outflow recess is cut near to step. It can be used in various refrigerating systems, as those using working mixture lithium bromide-water in absorption cycle. In comparison to the frequently used volumetric pumps, hydrodynamic pumps are simple and cheap devices which sliding surfaces are lubricated directly by working mixture, regardless of its type. Since the ratio of dimensions of hydrodynamic pumps seriously influence its efficiency, the proposed design is based on criteria of minimal driving power.
