Stakleno ionomerni cementi - nova restaurativna rješenja
In dental practice the majority of restorations meet aesthetic requirements. However, successful composite fillings often represent quite a challenge for dentists. Postoperative sensitivity is reduced but not eliminated. Moisture control can be compromised. Marginal leakage, discoloration and degradation are still present. Therefore, glass-ionomer cements are perfect addition to the aesthetic palette of materials due to their ability to adapt in different clinical conditions. They are one of the most reliable and versatile materials in pediatric dentistry. Over the past few years, glass- ionomer cements have been significantly improved, showing better mechanical and aesthetic properties, which significantly expands their indications. The purpose of this presentation is to show how to utilize biological activity of glassionomers in pediatric dental patients in order to create functional and long lasting fillings.
