The Influence of Keyway Position on Tooth Root Stress of Gear
The analysis of the influence of keyway position on tooth root stress of gear is presented. Model of gear with its connection to shaft is made by application of finite element method. Numerical analysis is done for stress calculation on several cases, which differ in keyway position in relation to analysed tooth. On the basis of calculated numerical results the diagrams, which present the influence of keyway position on tooth root stress, are drown. They show significant variation on tooth root stress caused by the relocation of keyway position. Analysis is provided for different rim thickness of the gear. The analytical expressions are obtained by application of polynomial regression.
