A Study Of Saint-Venant’s Torsion By The Successive Integration Method

This paper proposes application of the successive integration method (SIM) for solving differential equation of Saint-Venant’s torsion. The SIM is not single procedure but an alternative approach to integration of differential equations evolved from the Monte Carlo method. It consists in successive expansion of integrated area by re-calculation of interaction coefficients between points at the actual boundary of integrated area and the arbitrary chosen set of points where the unknowns will be calculated. During the process of integration it is necessary to memorise only mentioned interaction coefficients. By that reason the usage of computer’s memory is extraordinarily reduced, eliminating usage of slow peripheral memory, result of which can be remarkable speed up of calculation process. The proposed SIM algorithm is simple, and can be easy implemented into any computer program.
