Facebook ads as recruitment for online drug surveys: the Holy Grail?
Facebook advertisements were used as a recruitment strategy in the European web survey project. The aim of this paper is to provide a cross-national comparison of the outcome of such strategy for those countries with available information: Croatia, Switzerland and the Netherlands. Specificities of the recruitment in each country will be considered (criteria for targeting participants, duration of the campaigns, costs…), as well as differences in the characteristics of the participants reached. Suggestions for the enhancement of this strategy will be discussed.
