Projects Based on Picturebooks with Young Learners

Teachers and educators today have an important role in the education system and are in constant search for new ways which may help them to engage and motivate young learners. This thesis gives some ideas for choosing materials and organizing foreign language lessons based on authentic picturebooks as helpful tools for teachers in the classroom. The paper emphasizes the positive outcomes of using picturebooks while learning a foreign language and it focuses on activities that can help in the development of children’s learning and communicative skills. It also proposes a number of original projects and activities based on picturebooks by Dr. Seuss and Mo Willems.
