The most important plant diseases on ferest trees in the coastal region of Croatia
This paper surveys the most important plant diseases on forest trees in the Croatian maritime-Dalmatien belt, from Istria to dubrovnik. It is the result of many years of monitoring and investigation of the state of healt of coastal forests. The investigations showed a growing incidence of severe attacks of plant disease. Sphaeropsis sapinea /Fr./Dykoet Sutton., Dothistroma pini Hull., Cenangium ferruginosum Fr., Cryphonectria parasitica /Murr/Barr., Phellinus pini/Th.ex Fr/Pil. Are endangering particular trees, group or larger forest complexes. The paper deals with pine diseases wich occur in this region, indicating that the Austrian pine is the most endangered. Special attention has been paid to diseases on the cypress, an the problem of sweet chestnut blight in the Northen Primorje and Istria has been presented in more detail.
