Blind prediction and after test analysis of the seismic response of a cantilever structural wall
A model of a 5-story wall structure ("Camus 3") has been exposed to a series of seismic tests within the European ICONS project. The aim of the project was to experimentally investigate the wall structure designed and built according to the rules set in Eurocode 8 and to check the ability of numerical models to predict (Phase A) and reproduce (Phase B) the wall response. In the numerical benchmark phases used was standard computer code with macro elements and suggested values for the important nonlinear response parameters. Predicted global and local response properties were within 10% of error from the measured ones that could be considered satisfactory.
