Electric instrument ”tamburica”

Electric ”tamburica” is an instrument developed from acoustic ”tamburica” by adding electrical components to eliminate problems that occurred when using classic miking techniques to mike up this instrument. In this paper, history of music instrument ”tamburica” and its acoustical properties were briefly described. Also, functioning of electric ”tamburica” and types of pickups that are used on this instrument were described. Different techniques used to connect ”tamburica” to a sound reinforcement system and types of audio effects that are used when playing “tamburica” and their influence on the sound were explained. Finally, main features of electric ”tamburica” and reproduction quality dependence on its parameters has been described in general.
