Quantitative trait loci controlling broomrape (Orobanche crenata Forsk.) resistance in faba bean (Vicia faba L.)

A segregant F2 population derived from the cross between faba bean lines susceptible and resistant to Orobanche crenata was analysed to develop a linkage map. Resistance to O. crenata was evaluated under field conditions in F2-derived F3 lines. QTL Cartographer software was used to detect QTLs in the obtained map. Two major QTLs have explained 58.5 % and 18.2 % of the phenotypic variance, respectively.
