Role of outdoor research teaching in natural and culture heritage teaching
One of the main objectives of improving the quality of education in modern Europe is to develop the necessary natural and intercultural competence of students and teachers. In order to achieve the objectives and tasks of education of natural and cultural heritage, the environment and sustainable development, it is necessary to interdisciplinary plan outdoor research teaching content in the school curriculum. Cultural heritage is received from ancestors and current generation should care for it. Outdoor research teaching is based on learning by discovering in the immediate reality, the realization of experiential learning that leads to lasting knowledge, alleviation of pupils and interdisciplinary approach to teaching contents. The research approach is a desirable step forward to modern conception of education. Is an indispensable form of work in the adoption of biological, geographical, historical, aesthetic, cultural and all other contents in terms of immediacy and integrity of experience. By gaining experience from the immediate surroundings, we work on the development of humane communication and different messages about the environment. The aim of this paper is to highlight the importance of developing the necessary competencies of students of primary education through outdoor research teaching. The purpose is to raise awareness of the importance of applying outdoor research education which allows pupils a greater knowledge transfer, and thus the achievement of the learning goals. We give recommendations and suggestions of ways, approaches and methods of natural and cultural heritage teaching. Educational programs for outdoor education in the homeland will enable pupils’ critical observation, understanding the interdependence of nature and people and teaching scientific principles.
