Mediation in divorce disputes is specific in many ways. Modern trends see that procedure as voluntary but in Croatia changes towards voluntary principle of mediation are slow. This paper gives brief review of modern trends in European Union and situation from perspective of croatian Family Act 2003 about mediation in divorce disputes.
