The Shielding Effectiveness Measurements of a Rectangular Enclosure Perforated with Slot Aperture
In this paper, two methods of shielding effectiveness (SE) measurements in a partially anechoic chamber are presented. The first measurement method is based on measuring S21 parameters using the network analyzer. In the second method, the spectrum analyzer is used for electric field measurements in two set-ups. In the first set-up, the tracking generator is supported by the Software Spike (Signal Hound) to automated measurement, while in the second set-up the signal generator is used for point- topoint electric fields measurements. These measurement methods are conducted on two enclosure models with a slot aperture. The numerical SE simulations are conducted based on the compact Transmission-Line Matrix (TLM) method by using the commercial software (CST). The numerical analysis of shielding properties of a protective enclosure has been performed by the monopole-receiving antenna placed inside. Finally, the simulated results are compared with the experimental ones. The goal of this paper is to shown that the SE measurement in improvised partially anechoic chamber can be made with very accurate results.
