Influence of additional basketball program on changes in motor skills of fifth grade students

The objective of this research was to analyze the value of an additional weekly session based on the elements and games of basketball on the motor status of 11- year old students. The sample of 80 boys was examined by 12 motor tests over the 9-month period. Statistical evaluation generally showed that both kinesiological treatments with the interaction of growth and development factors provoked signifi cant quantitative changes in motor characteristics of examinees, however, experimental basketball program caused signifi cantly higher positive results which is primarily obvious through the measures of explosive and repetitive power, coordination and hand frequency motion
