Ivo Josipović’s Role in Post-Conflict Reconciliation: Former President’s Historical Consciousness that Lacked Legitimacy and Support in the Wider Society

This paper is theoretically grounded in an analytical framework of post-conflict reconciliation developed in the literature on conflict resolution. In order to explore the politics of reconciliation pursued by the former Croatian President the method of discourse analysis will be utilised. The analysis primarily focuses on his public speeches and official statements that had voiced a reconciliatory frame. The data for the discourse analysis were primarily gathered from the former President’s web site as well as from the newspapers and newspapers’ web sources. The paper is divided into three sections.
