Wear mechanisms for steam turbine rotor blades
The wet steam flow in the condensing steam turbines usually causes the wear of last stage rotor blades, and makes their service life shorter. In this paper the wear mechanisms is described and explained. Paper presents the results of many years of monitoring and researching the laws of the wear process and its mechanisms for turbine's rotor blades. On the basis of obtained results, a law of wear process is defined and simplified model for rotor blades service life is estimated.
