Breast carcinoma recurrence rates on postoperative MRI findings - a single center retrospective study
Breast cancer incidence is growing and the role of imaging in the differentiation of benign and malignant breast lesions, detection of cancer in early stages, choice and planning of treatment and follow-up of patients is more emphasised. The later is especially true for newer imaging modalities such as magnetic resonance and sonoelastography. Both radical surgery (mastectomy) and breast conserving surgery are used in breast cancer treatment. Local recurrence can occur after both radical and breast conserving treatment, and early detection of local recurrences has shown to significantly increase the long-term survival. The purpose of this study is to investigate the recurrence rates of breast carcinoma on postoperative MRI findings in our hospital’s patients.
