Structural response of warehouse loadbearing structure to fire action
This paper presents a case study of the fire resistance analysis conducted for loadbearing structure of warehouse. Real fire simulation was conducted for two fire load scenario, based on overall floor area of the warehouse in scenario 1, and actual occupied floor area of the static load in scenario 2, respectively. Temperatures of the roof construction zone are determined by using computer models, CFast (zone model) and PyroSim-FDS (field model), with and without sprinkler activation. Based on temperature calculations, load-bearing capacity was checked for characteristic elements of the warehouse construction. Obtained results showed that loadbearing elements of the warehouse have sufficient fire resistance, required for 30 minutes. For prestressing concrete element, verification of fire resistance was based upon degradation of material mechanical properties, while for timber element, upon reduction of cross-section, both in accordance with EUROCODE standards.
