The difference between the nanocomposite and conventional microcomposite exists in the dimension of dispersion of the two components, organic polymer matrix and inorganic filler. Their morphologies are illustrated by matrix penetration into the net-like structure of nanofiller particles. Microparticles and their agglomerates are dispersed as isolated islands into the polymer matrix. In this way a significant volume part of organic phase is affected by nanofiller, as to produce a novel constrained matrix structure in the interface region. The unusual behaviour of polymer interfaces filled with nanofiller particles is suggested to be a consequence of the significant restriction on the mobility. The examples given in this paper will be concerned to the effect of microfillers and nanofillers in poly(vinyl acetate) and/or copolymer poly(acrylate) matrix on the properties of thin film composites.
