Corrosion properties of Zn and Cu in bentionite
Depending on the installation location and purpose, bentonite clay must meet certain criteria, and some of them are: chemical inertness towards the deeper layers of the soil, should not pollute the environment, must have the physical and chemical properties to ensure a stable environment, to have a low resistance and not corrosive effect on buried metallic structures. In the present work, were examined some of the properties of Na activated bentonite clay, as well as corrosion resistance of Zn and Cu electrodes in that bentonite clay. To determine the index indicato rs (free swelling index and the capacity of water absorption) clay is used in its original form, while for corrosion testing Zn and Cu electrode (pH, resistance bentonite clay, linear polarization with the Tafel extrapolation and open circuit potential) was prepared by mixing with different ratios with distilled water. All experiments were carried out at room temperature.
