Electrical resistance of textile sensors depending on climatic conditions
High performance composites with 2D/3D woven reinforcements have found wide usage in various industrial areas. Today design engineers lay special emphasis on the integration of textile sensors during the manufacturing process of the composite parts. Recently, interest has focused on the possibility to develop these sensors from intrinsically conductive polymers also called “synthetic metals”. In this work, the dependence of the electrical resistance of poly(3, 4- ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrenesulfonate) textile sensors developed for in situ structural health monitoring of textile reinforced 2D thermoplastic composites on climatic conditions was investigated. Correlation with thermal properties determined was obtained as well.
