Organized labour in MNCs – exploring the role of country of origin labour relations model
The paper is organized as follows: in the theoretical part of the paper, we: (1) differentiate between country of origin (home country) and country of operation (host country) influence on the way both labour and labour relations are managed within MNCs, (2) explain the dynamics of the four LR indicators in MNCs, and (3) present four LR models and their characteristics in terms of different TU indicators. In the empirical part of the paper, we: (1) present the four LR indicators’ levels for MNCs, domestic organizations (non-MNCs), and public sector organizations, as well as (2) explore whether MNCs institute organized labour using predominantly their home/headquarters of host/local LR models.
