The paper analyzes and discusses the development/sustaining the process of marginalization within the newly developing processes of globalization and market opening in post-socialist Croatia in the region of Hrvatsko Zagorje, that became more profoundly the border region, but also under the influence of the strongest pulling factor in Croatia, Zagreb metropolis. The research is based on a mixed methodology, combining the quantitative and qualitative approach and methods.
