Performance of TCP/IP Stacks
TCP/IP performance varies widely among stacks, operating systems and hardware platforms. We describe our experiencees with TCP and UDP performance on eight operating systems ranging from Windows 3.11 to UNIX and address differences between TCP and UDP in terms of throughput and response time through different operating systems and Ethernet speeds.
