Pedagogical education of parents as a response to the challenges of the media in contemporary society

There are numerous challenges facing the modern family. The development of new technologies, the emergence of social networks and their mass use allows children access to a large amount of various information. First of all, constant exposure to television and online services, as well as the availability of modern technology itself, requires a lot of parents' attention in the upbringing of children. Parents are the first and most important people who introduce children to the world of media from their earliest age. The attitudes that parents have regarding the media and their use affects the way children relate to the media, and how they realize and understand the various media messages. Because of these, and many other reasons, parents are faced with the challenges of reflection on successful parenting and often re-mastering the process of bringing up children, of course keeping up with the time in which the child grows up. Therefore, today we can quite justifiably speak of modern parenting and educational competence of parents who reflect, monitor and assess the effects of their educational activity on the child, constantly re-evaluating, changing and improving themselves in order to improve their parenting skills.
