Sažetak
This paper investigated 11 barley cultivars grown in Osijek area: seven malting/feed (M/F), two strictly malting (M) and two only feed barley cultivars (F), during 2012 and 2013. The aim of this research was to assess the malting quality of strictly brewing, strictly feed and multipurpose (combined) brewing and feed barley cultivars. The suitability for beer production was assessed according to malting quality parameters. As expectedly, both of strict malting cultivars (Vanessa and Tiany) demonstrated the best malting quality parameters. Most of the combined malting/feed cultivars were within recommended values, except Maxim, Lukas and Gazda, which showed off lowest results in friability during all two years.
