Environmental Monitoring System – the IPPSO project

In order for appropriate institutions to reach the correct implementation, and particularly health conclusions, all relevant and validated data need to be accessed. This is especially important during natural disasters or accidents, when the amount of reliable data from the field enables fast decision-making of responsible authorities regarding remediation of such complex situations and thus directly contributes to reducing the environmental damage and the mortality of humans and animals. IPPSO project contributes to sustainable development and environmental protection in a very direct way, in order to protect the health and well-being of humans and biota. One of the main objectives of the project is to transfer scientific knowledge on environmental radiation and other physical parameters measurement methods to industrial partners in the project. Each of the parties entered in the project with unique innovations and knowhow (or know-why) that complement each other and work together to create a completely new and innovative concept in the field of remote registration and monitoring of micro-locality parameters of the environment. The goal of the project, in a narrow sense, was an industrial research of the possibility of creating a reliable system for remote registration, monitoring and validation of at least five various parameters of the environment at a number of locations with emphasis on radiation and its technical and security verifications. The project confirms scientific validatibility of environmental activities yet in the initial sensor electronic platform developed by users and its consolidatibility by M2M networking in one regulatory point from which they can be continuously monitored, appropriately processed and used for pollution control or for future planning of economic activities within the environment.
