Quality of services for children with autism spectrum disorders in Croatia - parents' perspective
System of ASD support in Croatia is still not answering growing needs of children with ASD and their families. Families are often facing a whole array of difficulties in getting appropriate care from their first concern to diagnosis and appropriate intervention. It is essential to include parents' perspectives and experiences in future system development and policy making. The purpose of this study is to examine the experiences and perspectives of parents on availability and quality of ASD services for children in (name of the country). Survey was conducted with 168 parents of children with ASD under the age of 10. Parents from different regions were included in the study (names of different regions). Key findings include differences in availability of services in different regions and large variety in the quality of health, education and other services. Results and possible implications on creating policies and future development of services will be discussed.
