OPTIMIZATION OF PRODUCTION PLAN IN THE METAL INDUSTRY BY THE USE OF DE NOVO PROGRAMMING

Production plan optimization is one of the most important activities of the production companies in the endeavours to ensure competitive advantages. In preparing the production plan numerous factors are necessary to be included. The problem of creating the production plan is getting more complicated when the production inputs occur at variable prices. In this paper the application of De Novo programming model is investigated in the production plan optimization in the metal industry. The efficiency of the proposed model is examined on the case of a company that produces metal containers. The obtained results indicate the high application efficiency of the model based on De Novo programming in the production plan optimization in the metal producing companies.
