Multi-Response Optimization of X20Cr13 Steel Turning Under Vortex Tube Cooling Using Grey Relational Analysis
This study presents multi-response optimization of X20Cr13 martensitic stainless steel turning under vortex tube cooling conditions. Turning experiments were carried out based on Taguchi L9 orthogonal array and the monitored machining responses, namely surface roughness and material removal rate were concurrently optimized based on the grey relational analysis (GRA). In addition, statistical significance and percentage contribution of cutting parameters, i.e. cutting speed, feed and depth of cut were obtained by the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and their optimal solution was validated by a confirmation experiment.
