Influence of Finish Rolling Temperature on the Mechanical Properties of Niobium Microalloyed Tubes
Investigations was carried out on low carbon steel microalloyed with niobium and on the steel with the same base chemical composition without niobium. It was found that the rolling temperature of niobium microalloyed steel has a significant influence on the mechanical properties of hot rolling-drawing welded tubes. Particularly differences in yield strength and elongation are evident as the consequence of significant differences in the substructure and internal stresses. Differences in dislocation density were also detected. When rolling niobium- free tubes with the same deformation parameters, the influence of deformation temperature is significantly smaller.
