ABSTRACT: The Old Testament people have undergone all stages of the development of medicine - an experiential, magical, magical-religious, and expert phase. They knew that the disease represented the imbalance of the physical and mental state and disturbed the relationship with the fellow-men. Because of their ignorance about the causes of some illness, they thought the disease was a punishment for sin, and some inexplicable diseases were attributed to the obsession with evil spirits. Tribal wizards called for ghosts and magic. By burning the heart and the liver of animals, they wanted to expel the demons from the human being in front of the obsessed person. In the New Testament, the patients were treated by a doctor, and when he could not cure the patient, some people turned to Jesus (eg blind, mute, immobile, women with prolonged bleeding, obsessed with the evil spirit) and he healed them by word, watering, by laying his hands, even at a distance. In the Old Testament, the illness was considered to be a punishment for sin (guilt) and in that sense had an educational meaning. In the New Testament illness is no longer a punishment, but a warning to the passage of life (the messianic role). Jesus healed those patients who trusted that he may heal them. The consciousness that guilt can be a forgiven, man leads to healing.
