137Cs u Kopačkom ritu
The goal of the paper has been to determine the activity of 137Cs in the soil and water samples from the Nature Park Kopački Rit in the northeastern part of Croatia. The soil samples were collected according to the standard procedures of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on 14 different locations on Kopački Rit. Activity concentrations of 137Cs were determined by means of gamma spectrometry using an ORTEC HPGe detector system (FWHM 2.24 keV at 1.33 MeV 60Co with relative efficiency of 74.2 % at 1.33 MeV 60Co). The measured concentrations in the soil at 11 locations ranged from 1.81 ± 0.16 Bq/kg (Kozjak) to 22.77 ± 0.60 Bq/kg (Dunav Kazuk) with a mean activity concentration of 7.2 ± 5.6 Bq/kg. These values are a somewhat lower than the average values of Osijek region (11 ± 12 Bq/kg) due to the frequent flooding of this area. 137Cs activity concentrations in water ranged from 0.35 ± 0.12 Bq/m3 (Kopačko jezero) to 1.21 ± 0.33 Bq/m3 (Dunav Batina). The mean value is 0.81 ± 0.34 Bq/m3.
