Wireless power transfer represents the concept of energy transfer through resonant magnetic coupling based on Maxwell electromagnetic equations. The objective of this paper is to give an overview of the wireless power transfer. The introduction will give the description of the technology, describe the system components and working model. The focus will be kept on electromagnetic phenomena inside the resonant circuit. Furthermore, the paper will present a comparison between standard (conducted) and wireless resonant Witricity technologies.
