Design of Low Profile RFID Transponder Insensitive to Platforms of Conductive Materials
A conventional quarter-wavelength rectangular microstrip antenna with an H-shaped slot is introduced in the patch structure to accommodate an RFID microchip to yield efficient operation in body-centric and conductive environments. Transponder is designed, manufactured and experimentally verified, showing a good isolation between radiating structure and the human body or a conductive platform in 870 MHz band. The reading range of the proposed transceiver is compared with commercial one.
