Vaccination of Children and Bioethics
Vaccination issue became controversial in the last decade among some of the parents and public. It seems that a number of parents who refuse vaccination are increasing worldwide. The low which regulates vaccination differs from country to country. There are many parties involved in the vaccination policy: infants and children, parents and guardians, primary pediatricians, public, public health care policy makers, state etc. Every and each member of the involved parties has their rights and duties which sometimes are not complemented. The main goal of the vaccination program has always been protection of the youngest. Each of the mentioned parties involved has the same goal. However, practice there are completely opposite perspectives regarding the vaccination polices today which results in greater animosity and fear of the parents. The question is what can bioethicians and medical professionals do to contribute to the protection of the youngest regarding the vaccination issue?
