DANCE TO HEALTH
Dance is the ability of the body to speak (through movement), relaxing the mind until reaching confidence in one’s conscientiousness, configuration of internal tensions, an emergence from inner time and space paradigms, but also suppressing familiar conceptions. (Djurinović, 1992). Dance has always existed as a spontaneous custom and and social discipline. It, therefore, discloses itself both as an art form and from an ethical point of view (Havelock, 1992.) Dance is conventional, aesthetic movement, determined by set musical notes, rhythm and beat, influenced by stylistic characteristics (Oreb, 1992). These definitions of dance show its comprehensiveness in our general cultural identity. It would be difficult to find one segment of anthropological development where dance is not represented or have an effect depending on set goals. In order to give evidence of its comprehensiveness, it should be viewed from various aspects: social, educational, functional, health, psychological awareness, kinesiological, historical and traditional values.
