The interaction between global warming and thermohaline circulation

The global warming problem caused by the increase of the amount of carbon dioxide and other trace gases in the atmosphere is an item of growing interest in both public opinion and the scientific community. In this study, a simplified coupled atmosphere-oceanic model has been used to investigate the influence of global warming on the thermohaline circulation. Several experiments were made to investigate dependence of thermohaline circulation collapse on the global mean temperature and temperature gradient.
