Vaccination in the 21th Century?
Vaccination and its benefits are the result of success of public medicine in the 20th century. Today in the 21st century, vaccination issue is one of the most reassessed achievements of medicine. The medical facts and the bioethical facts are questioned together. The vaccination of infants became the subject of dispute of several parties. On the one hand, some of the parents refuse the vaccination aiming at protecting their child from possible consequences, and on the other hand medical experts try to protect the children by vaccinating them. The state has to insure the law and financial support so that medical achievements would be available to the public. Today we have several parties on the opposite sides. As medical experts we question what we did wrong and what we can do to help the parents in their decision. We will present the reasons for refusal of vaccination in one pediatric office.
